Rebecca Evanhoe is a conversation designer, strategist, teacher, and writer who has been designing technology you can talk to since 2011. Her work spans voice assistants, chatbots, healthcare simulations, and interactive experiences built for platforms including Amazon Web Services, Alexa, and Google Home. She is the co-author of Conversations With Things: UX Design for Chat and Voice (Rosenfeld Media, 2021), one of the field's defining books on principles-based conversation design.

Rebecca holds degrees in chemistry and fiction writing — a combination that reflects her belief in interdisciplinary thinking as the foundation of great AI experience design. She teaches conversation design and UX writing as a visiting assistant professor at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and has appeared on CDI's Unprompted podcast alongside Hans van Dam to discuss designing reliable conversational AI at scale.

Her writing on the CDI blog covers conversation design principles, UX writing for AI, and the human side of building systems that people actually want to talk to.
