About
This certificate shows that you have deep understanding of Agentic Experience Design methodology, with focus on Conversational Capital, the CDI Method for autonomous agents, context mapping, autonomy boundaries, systematic testing, and trust preservation at scale.
The AXD Certificate demonstrates you can design autonomous AI agents that act on behalf of humans while building trust in high-stakes contexts where mistakes have real consequences.
It is earned by passing the certification exam included in the Agentic Experience Design course.
Skills and competencies this certificate demonstrates
With the AXD Certificate, you demonstrate expertise in:
-
Conversational Capital: understanding trust as an organisational asset that compounds slowly but collapses suddenly, and designing agents that build capital at scale.
-
Strategic scoping: identifying what to automate and what to explicitly exclude using the Exclusions Framework, protecting vulnerable moments and power imbalances.
-
Context mapping: using the Agentic Canvas to map complete context: human goals and mindset, agent capabilities and limitations, autonomy boundaries, trust mechanisms.
-
Autonomy design: defining appropriate authority levels using Authority Tiers, knowing when agents should act independently, confirm, or escalate.
-
Systematic testing: validating design before deployment through stakeholder review, Wizard of Oz user testing, and adversarial scenarios.
-
Trust-preserving deployment: implementing phased rollout (internal, pilot, limited, full) and monitoring capital trajectory, not just efficiency.
-
CDI Method mastery: applying all 12 steps from strategy through deployment systematically across high-stakes agent implementations.
Who is this certificate for?
-
Build autonomous agents in regulated industries: CX leaders, product managers, and designers at healthcare systems, financial institutions, and insurance companies responsible for agents that make decisions affecting people's lives.
-
Transition from chatbots to autonomous systems: professionals experienced in Conversational AI who need systematic methodology for the elevated responsibility of autonomous action.
-
Design for high-stakes contexts: anyone creating agents that control outcomes users need (appointment access, loan approvals, claims processing, account management) where trust violations have real consequences.
-
Need compliance-ready frameworks: practitioners who must demonstrate a systematic approach to stakeholders, regulators, and compliance teams for autonomous decision-making systems.
Why should you get certified?
The AXD Certificate advances your career by validating your expertise in autonomous agent design. It demonstrates your mastery of trust preservation, from scoping with explicit exclusions to designing appropriate autonomy to deploying through systematic rollout.
This credential sets you apart because:
-
Emerging field leadership: position yourself as an expert in agent design before the market becomes saturated. Early adopters of AXD methodology are leading their organisations.
-
Regulatory confidence: provide documented expertise when compliance teams, legal departments, and regulators require accountability for autonomous systems.
-
High-stakes credibility: demonstrate you understand the difference between chatbot design and autonomous agent design, and can steward Conversational Capital in contexts where mistakes destroy trust.
-
Career advancement: qualify for roles in agent strategy, CX innovation leadership, and product management for autonomous systems at organisations where getting it wrong has consequences.
-
Competitive differentiation: stand out from prompt engineers and chatbot designers. AXD certification proves systematic methodology for responsible autonomous agent design.
-
Network access: join practitioners across healthcare, finance, and insurance implementing autonomous agents using AXD frameworks; learn from peer implementations and avoid their failures.

“I've been working as a Conversation Designer for about a year now and I wanted to learn more about training the model. So I did! Thanks Conversation Design Institute for the great course!”
“I have been through my share of corporate educations, but this hands down one of the best. Conversation Design Institute Conversation Design is masterfully presented by Hans van Dam and provides great hands on advice on ways how to make bots speak human! ”
